Subject: ok then
ok then
finally have a little news to report
with the new extended stock
I love the Dragonov in 7.62x54
and the recoil buffer was definitely a good idea
The Ruger SSR 556....I love this gun, still breaking it in
but 1/4 to 3/8 groups even with cheap ammo at 100 yds
The Bushmaster lost the Nikon scope I had on it to the Ruger
and with the ARMS quick release mount, I switched it
and had it zeroed in...in 5 rounds...two to move it and then
had a nice tight group which included a Mickey Mouse at 100 yds
The Bushmaster just doesn't compare
and if I was choosing a gun between such as an AK-74, AK-47, or
.223
The Ruger is at the top of my list
The best .223 I've ever shot
I will be changing the Charging Handle though for one with a longer
latch
Bravo company makes a really excellent one...I'll be getting a
couple
even the Bushmaster could use this improvement
The Yugo, 7.62x39, I love it...except for the short stock
but I'll be making a new stock for that one...it's fun
and just to make it last longer, it'll be getting a recoil
buffer
but it doesn't kick much at all, about like a Colt .223
the Romanian AK.47....definitely needs a recoil buffer
at least that's what my wife said...it pops pretty hard
even with open sights...with Brown Bear ammo...
nice groups
.243 Savage....1/4" groups with the ammo Hornady exchanged with
me
I love this gun........
I'm thinking to put my Swarovski on it and remove the Burris Black
Diamond
I won't have 32x....but the way this gun shoots, it deserves a
better scope
and the clarity of the Swar...should make up the difference I'll
lose in magnification
S&W .38 special K frame 6" barrel
I fell in love with this pistol today
Like brand new and probably made in the 70's
and I love this gun...just flat fell in love with it
7.62x25 Tokarov......not impressed....simply not impressed
the CZ-82 shoots better at 25 yds
Maybe I need a couple of new barrels????
I'll still look for a couple of CZ-52's
Polish P-64.....the DA pull is still hanky
I've got to find a stronger sear spring
plus it needs some smoothing
CZ-82...what's to say....it's still a gem
I even ran at the 25 target emptying the mag and still had a pie
plate group
didn't get that with the Tokarov or the P-64
Les Baer .45 acp
only shot 3 different 230 gr hard ball ammos, Magtech, PMC, and
can't recall the other .....the PMC target ammo actually did the
best today
all were from 2008...shoot the old stuff first
but even with open sights and my first time shooting it rapid
fire
and 3 different ammos I had 20 round scores ranging from 153 to 173
with a few 10 and 9 rings....those 5's are killers
but I wasn't really taking my time, plus each ammo shot slightly
different
and I would tighten up between 5 round mags
I'm thinking of picking up another Nightforce scope for my .338
Lapua mag/Bravo 98
I love their scopes.
and last
my S&W model 41.....well, I've had it with this crap
even good Wolf .22lr ammo doesn't do well in it
so I had two boxes of CCI standard velocity
as I was waiting to try it since I had redone the springs
good god....9&10 rings and not a single alibi
and I was firing as fast as possible trying to see if it would
screw up
from what I can tell....I believe the Wolf & SKS is actually
more like 980 instead of the 1050 or so advertised
SKS & Wolf may be fine for other pistols
but in a S&W model 41, use CCI, period.
and last but not least
my latest venture into some new lubes has been a resounding
success
I've found a dry moly spray that is insane on .408 Cheytac & 50
BMG
groups are just getting tighter and tighter
I even found a tungsten spray I've used on some other situations
that is unbelievable
some of these new lubes were used in the Tokarovs
so they functioned well
I need to get them to use in the P-64 and see if they can make a
difference there
